GOD WORKS THROUGH MY GIFTS

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another.” (1 Peter 4:10, KJV)

Your gifts are not merely personal advantages; they are opportunities to serve. God gives different abilities, experiences, and opportunities, and the body of Christ needs their faithful use. Comparison can make us despise what we carry or imitate someone else’s assignment. The gospel frees us to serve from gratitude, recognising that every gift is received and every opportunity can become an offering to God.

Notice what you do well, what needs you are equipped to meet, and where trusted people see potential in you. Develop your ability through practice, learning, and feedback. A gift may be spiritual, practical, creative, relational, or administrative; all can serve others when offered with love and integrity. Do not wait until you feel perfectly ready, but do not confuse enthusiasm with preparation. Gifts are not a basis for superiority; they are a call to stewardship. Offer your ability faithfully today.

Identify one ability you can develop and one need it could help meet. Set aside time to practise, learn, or ask for feedback. Do not wait for a perfect platform, and do not take on a task beyond your preparation without seeking support. Your gift is a stewardship, not a status symbol. Use it humbly, grow in competence, and measure success by faithful service rather than comparison.

Do not bury a gift because it seems ordinary, and do not assume that talent alone makes you ready for every opportunity. Develop your ability through practice, study, feedback, and faithful service. Look for needs rather than merely looking for a platform. Some of the most valuable contributions happen quietly, supporting others and helping a community flourish. Be willing to begin modestly and learn from people with greater experience. When your ability grows, let gratitude and humility grow with it, remembering that gifts are entrusted to us for service.

Scripture For Meditation

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us.” (Romans 12:6, KJV)

Prayer

Father, I receive my abilities as gifts of grace. Help me develop them with discipline, use them with humility, and direct them toward serving others. Keep me from comparison and make me faithful with each opportunity. Amen.

Faith Confession

I am gifted by God’s grace and called to serve. I develop my abilities, use them with humility, and contribute faithfully without comparing my assignment with another’s.
